Newport to Ensenada Race
The Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race is the world's largest international ocean yacht race, with a history stretching back to 1948. Each April, hundreds of sailboats ranging from 27-foot production boats to 80-foot racing machines gather in Newport Harbor before the starting gun sends them south toward Ensenada, Mexico — a 125-nautical-mile course that tests seamanship, strategy, and endurance. The start of the race, with hundreds of colorful spinnakers filling Newport Harbor, is one of the most spectacular sights in American sailing.
